(*) Coaching means finding tasks and overcoming them, which can be very rewarding and can promote self-belief, confidence, and empowerment. Dogs, like people, thrive on challenges and accomplishments, and providing them with opportunities to use their natural skills and instincts can help them build a sense of pride and achievement.

When they successfully complete a task and receive a reward, such as a treat, play a game, get access to an activity or praise from their handler, they learn that their actions have a positive outcome, which can help build their confidence and sense of self-worth.

Additionally, when dogs are given tasks and responsibilities, they can become more industrious and focused. This can help them develop a sense of purpose and direction, and it is very beneficial for their mental and emotional well-being.

While positive training and task-oriented activities are enjoyable for many dogs, they also benefit from learning how to relax and slow down.

Training and activities will be tailored to meet the needs of each individual dog and temperament .

Coaching is interspersed throughout the day in short fun sessions which allow for successful learning and consolidation. Your dog will be learning all day long because learning happens all the time, whether we are officially training or not! The building blocks of what we are specifically working on will form, develop gradually and consolidate especially whilst playing and resting.

Residential Coaching (*) and Boarding

In a home stress free environment.

If needed, personalised training and holistic behaviour modification: beyond operant conditioning: not just a dry ABC (Antecedent + Behaviour + Consequence) behaviourist approach; everything starts from and revolves around the emotional state of every individual dog.

Training with L.E.G.S to stand on! By which I means a comprehensive approach that considers Learning, Environment, Genetics and Self of each dog: L.E.G.S are the four elements of the Antecedent in the ABC model (Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence)

Positive training based on the emotional needs of the client (my main client is your dog, but of course you are part of  the relationship I want to help flourish).

No quick fixes.

Happiness-boosting activities tailored to a personalized reward model:

  • Enjoying long, enriching walks

  • Playtime with me, Didier, and Frank

  • Engaging in dog agility games where appropriate (flat work, low jumps)

  • Fun nose work games

  • Day to day training (sit, stand, down, wait, stay, recall, impulse control etc)

  • Well-deserved rest and relaxation

  • Blending into our family life, which could include anything from accompanying me on errands and beach trips to joining a family BBQ.

Only 1 dog at a time. Day care centres don’t suit all dogs, some breeds and some individual may find day care centre environments over stimulating given the higher number of dogs present and the constant noise level. Currently, my household includes two working golden retrievers, Didier and Frank. To ensure that your dog will feel comfortable and enjoy their stay, a few introductory sessions will be needed before the boarding begins. o ensure everything goes smoothly, I recommend starting the introductory sessions well in advance of your holiday. Investing in this preliminary period is essential to establish a solid relationship with everyone involved. These sessions will begin with just me and your dog, then progress to include one of my dogs at a time, and finally, we’ll all come together—three dogs (four if you count me!)—to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. Preliminary sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours and are always scheduled in the afternoons.

£100 per day.

Preliminary Introductory and Coaching Sessions in advance of the residential coaching and boarding period

£80 per session which typically will last 2 to 3 hours and it will involve various happiness boosting activities.
